Adopt a Production program provides hands-on learning experience for the region’s high-school Drama classes. Through this program students witness and participate in the development of a professional theatre production from its inception through to Opening night.
The purpose of this program is:
• To demystify the artistic process and to encourage creativity in each participant, regardless of their personal or professional pursuits. Research shows that participation in the arts fosters greater engagement in learning for students who experience difficulties with traditional school study. Therefore, investing in arts education effectively boosts students’ academic achievement in areas such as math, English, etc.
• To inspire and ignite imagination of the students to be more enlightened and participatory citizens of our community. We believe that it is through the making of art that new generations become more enlightened, inspired and empathetic to make the difference. While there have been multiple opportunities to attend performing arts events locally, this program addresses the need of future arts audiences to be “on an inside” of making a theatre work.
