Barbara White

Barbara has a diploma from Seneca College in Marketing and Advertising and is a managing partner with her husband in Jeff White Group and Jeff’s Junk.  They have owned and operated this business in Barrie since 1992. She worked in the advertising agency in Toronto before moving to Barrie and having a family.  They have raised three children who are all living in the Barrie and surrounding area.

In 2016, Barbara co-founded Ripple of Kindness, a gathering of like-minded women that come together four times a year to contribute financially to the community.  Ripple of Kindness has now opened three chapters; Orillia, Muskoka and London.  As of December 2021, Ripple of Kindness Barrie has contributed $484,000 back into the community and collectively the four chapters have raised over $640,000.

Barbara was the Chair of Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka in 2018 and 2019 and is currently completing her second term on the board.  She has also served on committees for CMHA and Hospice Simcoe.  She organized a 10 year fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society called Prom Night for Cancer and raised over $150,000 and also led a team of friends that held the Holiday Social for Gilda’s Club, raising $17,000 to help keep the red door open.

She has been awarded the Ontario 150 award by Ann Hogarth, the John Graves Simcoe Medal of Excellence in 2017, Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Heart and Soul Award in 2018, the Paul Harris Fellow Award by two Rotary Clubs in Barrie and the Legends & Legacy Award in 2018. Ripple of Kindness was awarded the Barrie Business Awards Not-for-Profit or Charitable Organization Award in 2019. Barbara is a member of both the Communication Committee and the Grants Committee for the BCF.
