The Riley Dixon Endowment Fund is a donor advised fund set up to grant out annual amounts to charitable institutions supported by the donor in Barrie, such as Hospice Simcoe and The David Busby Centre.
Hospice Simcoe provides comfort, reduces suffering and preserves the dignity of people with life-limiting illnesses. Hospice care is also extended to family members, helping them to care for their loved ones and to care for themselves.
The communities financial support enables Hospice to deliver programs and services to all clients, residents, and families without costs. The Fund was initially established by the contribution from an anonymous donor of the cash surrender value of a life insurance policy.
The David Busby Centre has been a leader for 25 years in reducing the impact of poverty, homelessness, insufficient employment, addiction and mental health issues in Barrie. Over 2,200 participants receive help every year. As a proud member of the Simcoe Alliance to End Homelessness, we work with our partner agencies and our dedicated community to meet the needs of everyone who accesses our services.
Help grow this endowment, to create continuous funding to local charities like Hospice Simcoe and The David Busby Centre.
